1. Proposal

Before calling sponsors, have your proposal ready.  Whether presenting verbally or in writing, focus on one event and know your event’s most valuable asset or usp (unique selling point).

2. Research

Find out the types of events the sponsor has sponsored in the past along with the company’s future mission.  Don’t be afraid to be innovative and offer unique events and benefits.

3. Sponsorship Request

The best way to find out when sponsors accept sponsorship proposal is by asking them and checking their websites to find out if they posted a date; however, you can send it any time of the year.

4. Organize

Immediately organize sponsors’ contact information, with notes, to have at your fingertips for future use such as follow-ups and to jog your memory.
