I am researching places to send my press release and guess what I've found! A good way for sponsorees to thank their sponsors. The Georgia Planning Association (GPA) has posted on their website the names and contact information of their sponsors. Is this really a good way to thank your sponsors?
The cons:
1. Unless there is a designated phone number that handles sponsorship receptionists can become overwhelmed and not resourceful
2. Individuals may not know how to ask for sponsorship resulting in companies losing valuable time trying to understand the sponsorship request.
The pros:
1. Sponsors aligned themselves to receiving additonal sponsorship opportunities that can grow their businesses
2. Professionals save lots of research time which helps them approach the sponsors more strategically
3. Sponsors are viewed as open and welcoming to prospective consumers
4. Sponsree (GPA) is viewed as open, helpful, and having a good relationship with their sponsors.
Overall, the pros outweighs the cons!
I am going to call some of those sponsors on GPA's website to find out if the company is overwhelmed or open and will let you know, so look out for the results in an upcoming blog. BTW, I am still working on getting a celebrity or celebrities response to the question I posted on the previous blog.
